GARY, Ind. (WNDU) - The five victims who died after a South Shore train hit an SUV late Wednesday night in Gary have been identified. According to our affiliate WMAQ , officials have identified those victims as: 24-year-old De’Mario Craig 21-year-old Byron Towns 20-year-old Latianna King 20-year-old Maurice Parrish 20-year-old Sherise Parrish All five victims reportedly lived together at the same address in Gary. The collision happened around 10 p.m. near the intersection of U.S. 12/20 and 7th Avenue, just west of Miller station. South Shore Line officials say Train #133 was heading east when a southbound SUV went around a crossing arm that was down and got hit by the train. A witness told police the driver went around it to try to beat the train. Gary police say all five victims were ejected from the SUV, and they all died at the scene.
