Danbury Railway Museum 8/17/24

 Here are photos of my visit to the Danbury Railway Museum in Danbury, CT.

Northbound NS at Milford, IN on June 18, 2017

 

Railroad Interlocking at Wellsboro, Indiana , August, 1992 v.s. August, 1998

This view looks north on the Chesapeake & Ohio branch line with the GTW diamonds in the foreground, and the B&O diamonds in the background. 

This looks eastward down the B&O with the C& O diamonds in the foreground and the GTW diamonds in the background. Note the B&O color position light signal bridge that was replaced in 1998, when the junction was simplified.

 This view looks northeast toward South Bend; C&O diamonds are the foreground, B&O diamonds in the background. Note the railroad relay box on the right.

In 1998, this railroad interlocking was modified; the C&O was removed north of the GTW and B&O, including the connecting track and stub in the woods. The line was then simply fed into the B&O across Hamilton Street.

 This is Norfolk Southern SD70ACE #1111 at Leesburg, Indiana on May 24, 2023. This Norfolk Southern locomotive has been nicknamed the "barcode unit" due to the four digits resembling a barcode. Norfolk Southern 1111 remains a popular target for photographers nationwide.

At Defiance, Ohio, an eastbound Union Pacific run-through train rounds the curve, crosses the ND&W OWLS diamond, and crosses Deatrick Street. He is running on CSX's ex-B&O Willard Sub. Shot on the fly with my Canon T6 DSLR.
