 Action is nonstop at the busy diamonds in Wellsboro, Indiana, as an eastbound Canadian National freight rolls across the CSX crossing on the Battle Creek Subdivision. This unique train features an interesting mix—half intermodal and half auto racks—creating a diverse and eye-catching consist. Up front, railfans are treated to a rare pairing of power: an EMD SD75I and a GE C44-9LW, both becoming increasingly uncommon sights on today’s rails. Adding even more intrigue, a track geometry testing car rides directly behind the locomotives, making this train a true standout. The sound of steel wheels pounding the diamonds and the sight of this unusual lash-up make for a memorable scene at one of Indiana’s well-known railfan hotspots.
