 As the light fades at Wellsboro, Indiana, an eastbound CSX tank train grinds up the grade from Water Street and slowly crosses the CN (ex-GTW) Battle Creek Subdivision. Leading the charge are a pair of GE AC4400CW locomotives, working hard as they drag the heavy consist over the diamonds. But the action doesn’t stop there—just as the last car clears, a westbound train roars into the scene, accelerating past with a GE ES44DC and a standout EMD SD40-3 in the eye-catching “SpongeBob” paint scheme bringing up the power! A perfect dusk meet with nonstop action at one of the Midwest’s best railfan hotspots.
