An eastbound CSX local approaches on the ex-B&O Willard Sub led by an EMD GP38-2 running long hood forward! He stops before the signal bridge and sets out a gondola in the scrapyard. Then he re-couples the loco, performs the Class 3 Air Test, and throttles up to head for the yard in East Defiance.  This is the crossing of the BNSF (Ex-BN) Beardstown Line with the NS (ex-Wabash) Kansas City mainline. 

NYC SIGNALS AT BRIMFIELD, IN 7/18/17

 This pair of NYC Tri-Light signals guarded the NS EX-NYC Water Level Route at Brimfield, Indiana. Note that the signal bridge only has one light. These were replaced in 2018. 

RAILROAD TOWER AND CABOOSE INTERIOR TOURS AT GRIFFITH, INDIANA

 

This is a tour of the railroad tower at Griffith, Indiana. It was retired in December, 1999, and relocated across the tracks in July, 2000. This tower once controlled the crossing of five railroad lines, and once saw the passage of 180 trains a day! Filmed in September, 2011.
