At historic Deshler, Ohio, an eastbound BNSF double-stack intermodal train accelerates from a stop and roars across the CSX Toledo Sub diamonds on the former B&O Willard Subdivision. Leading the consist is a striking pair of GE C44-9W locomotives—one wearing BNSF’s Heritage II paint scheme, the other a beautifully weathered ATSF Warbonnet, creating a rare and eye-catching lash-up. Even more remarkable, this scene would not have been possible just weeks earlier, as the historic depot once blocked this exact view, making this a fleeting and unrepeatable moment in Deshler railroading history.
