Step onto the captivating world of Hotrail Productions, where the magic of lights, camera, and trains combines to create an unforgettable experience. I travel all over the country photographing railroad history in the making. My footage dates back to 1995. Whether it's a thrilling action sequence or a heartwarming romantic scene, the railway has long been a favorite setting for filmmakers and TV producers.
Railroad action at Wellsboro, Indiana, as an eastbound CSX intermodal train rolls across the busy diamond with the CN (ex-Grand Trunk Western) Battle Creek mainline. The train is running on CSX’s Garrett Subdivision, one of the key freight routes across northern Indiana.
Power for today’s train is a pair of GE ES44AC locomotives, with one unit leading and another distributed power unit (DPU) inserted mid-train to help move the long string of intermodal containers. Moments later the train clatters over the crossing, a classic railfan scene where two major railroads meet.
Diamond crossings like this always make for exciting railfanning, especially when a long stack train storms through with modern GE power on the point.
