Framed by the solid brick Deshler Interlocking Tower, a westbound CSX intermodal stack train clatters across the famous Toledo Subdivision diamonds at the railfan hotspot Deshler, Ohio. Leading the charge is a Tier 4 GEVO, while the rear of the train features a pair of DPUs providing extra muscle — an AC4400CW and an ES44AC shoving from the back. The sound of steel wheels pounding the diamonds echoes across town as the train continues west on the former B&O mainline. The sturdy Deshler tower visible in this scene has been out of service since 1989, but it still stands watch over the busy junction. Historically, a depot once occupied the northwest quadrant of the crossing, though it was sadly razed just weeks before this video was filmed, marking the end of another small piece of Deshler’s railroad history. Today, Deshler remains one of the best railfan locations in the Midwest, offering constant action from CSX trains moving in every direction across the diamond.
